Esoteric Buddhism – handclapping – the secret of calling the shakti power
Have you heard of the sound of one hand clapping? This is a famous zen saying. This might be the orginal origin of the saying as it is an inner sound. Here is the secret.
Some Buddhist pujas incorporate handclapping at certain points in the singing. These pujas are usually offering pujas to various inner beings to gain more positive karma. So why is it done , i mean why do the monks clap their hands before or after certain mantras or prayers? Well here’s why. When a person’s individual mind stream enters an inner tube (Nadi) a sound is heard mostly in the dreaming state. There are different sounds , thunder, bells and clapping. When you enter dreaming , your mind steam (if is subtle enough) enters a tube and we can have a vision or even zen enlightenment. One of these tubes has the hand clapping sound and is closely connected to the Kundalini power. It is possible to call inner beings by clapping your hands, its an inner signal. As the waking and dreaming are of the same nature there is nothing to stop this clapping calling beings. This sound relates to upper channel beings, not earth bound beings or dark spirits. In Tibetan Buddhism , the bell, clapping and music are used to invoke these higher beings in order to elevate a person’s mind. Such beings can indeed lift us up. I wouldn’t say it was a higher vibration ,no, I would say it was a breaking down of our delusion of just 3 dimensions.
So what about the one hand clapping? Well this clapping sounds leads into a tube (nadi) which leads to the soundless sound (the zen one hand clapping). This might be the origin of the zen saying.
